A comprehensive view of the academic programmes at LCB
An Intro
An MBA is a Masters of Business Administration aimed at business professionals who wish to enhance their skills through academic experience and interaction with other managers.
As per the QAA Academic standards, “The LCB MBA is defined as a Type 3 Masters programme”, which reads as - ‘The MBA is defined as a career development generalist programme for those who have significant post-graduation and relevant work experience on which the learning process should build. The experience required will be at least two years with the typical entrant having substantially more than this. The main emphasis of these programmes is on leadership through strategic management. While the academic level is positioned no differently from that of Type II programmes (Masters Level 7), there is a strong practical and professional orientation to the curriculum. Due to the maturity and work experience of the students, MBA programmes are expected to be different in their objectives, recruitment and pedagogical processes to other Masters degrees in business and management.’

The MBA at LCB is a two years part-time or one year full time course, taught in our Barking and Birmingham campuses and also available online. Students are assessed through written assignments, presentations, written exams and a dissertation. New intakes start in September, January and April.
